This Golden Eagle sculpture is hand carved from a single piece of limewood.  Once the carving is complete and the glass eyes have been fitted, the carved eagle is painted with acrylics .

“Golden eagles are always a joy to see in the wild – but they are generally elusive and reclusive creatures, much less often seen than the larger white tailed sea eagle.  I have spent many months in Scotland watching for golden eagles with varying degrees of luck. But on the odd occassion, all the waiting has paid off, and I have been rewarded with some stunning views of these regal looking raptors. This golden eagle sculpture is the result of one of these times.”
