In this video, I explain some of the reasons why wood often develops splits and cracks, and share the method I’ve found most effective for handling freshly felled, or “green,” timber. After covering a bit of the underlying theory, I’ll demonstrate how to process a real log step by step, and show you the best way to store it for future carving projects.
